Byton M-Byte's first body-in-white successfully rolls off the line in Byton's plant in NanjingByton shared on social media that it has achieved another milestone in reaching to a production version of the M-Byte. The company announced that the first body-in-white of this model has successfully rolled off the production line in Byton's plant in Nanjing, China. The production version of the vehicle should be presented in Q3 of and will enter mass production in Q4 of 2019.

Buton M-Byte is positioned as a medium-sized SUV. It will arrive with two drivetrain versions. The rear drive version has a maximum power of 200 kW (272 Ps) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The four-wheel drive version has one motor on each of the front and rear axles. The maximum power of the whole system is 350 kW (476 Ps) and the maximum system torque is 710 Nm.

In early April it was reported that the project prototype has successfully completed the first winter test in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia. The test was performed to check how the various components work in sub-optimal situations.
