2021 Nissan Ariya debuts with up to 500 km of range together with Nissan's new logoAs planned, Nissan unveiled the 2021 Nissan Ariya today. The concept vehicle was introduced in October 2019, during the 46th Tokyo Motor Show as the ultimate representation of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. It builds upon the Nissan IMx Concept which dates back to 2017 and will be the base for a number of new electric vehicles from Nissan and Renault. The concept vehicle was also a guest at CES 2020 in January this year.

The production 2021 Nissan Ariya is Nissan's first all-electric coupé crossover and offers up to 500 km of range based on the WLTP cycle. It is based on Nissan's latest electric drive technology - the e-4ORCE twin-motor AWD system and arrives with Nissan's ProPilot 2.0. This tech is already available on actual vehicles in Japan and allows real autonomous driving on highways, including passing cars on the way, exits from and entries to highways. It also features the Nissan ProPilot Remote Park, which is the same service as Tesla's Smart Summon.

The Ariya 63kWh two-wheel-drive model is ideal for urban and suburban commuters looking for quality and style in their next-generation EV. It is equipped with a 7.4 kW onboard charger. UP to 130 kW DC charging is supported by all Ariya versions.

The Ariya 87kWh two-wheel drive model expands on the 63kWh with an upgraded powertrain and additional range for those looking to venture on longer journeys. It is equipped with a 22 kW onboard charger.

The Ariya e-4ORCE 63kWh AWD model offers an attractive balance in performance and value in its segment. With almost no compromise on range, this model offers ample performance and innovative new technologies, including twin electric motors and e-4ORCE control technology that deliver balanced, predictable power to all four wheels. It is equipped with a 7.4 kW onboard charger.

The Ariya e-4ORCE 87kWh AWD will offer a longer range coupled with pure power thanks to the e-4ORCE technology.

Topping the range, the Ariya e-4ORCE 87kWh Performance will benefit from a higher power output and will be the epitome of the best performance-technology combination. It is equipped with a 22 kW onboard charger.

The 2022 Nissan Ariya sports Nissan's new logo, which also made its world premiere today. Symbolizing the company's dedication to keep innovating for new generations of customers, it will adorn coming Nissan models as they're introduced or refreshed.

The new logo looks to the future while staying proudly connected to the company's rich heritage and tradition of innovation. The company name remains at the center of the logo, communicating an instantly recognizable brand that evokes past milestones and memories while also conveying evolution.

"The Nissan Ariya opens a new chapter in our history as we begin our journey of transformation in our business, in our products, and in our culture," Uchida said. "It defines what matters to Nissan, represents what we stand for, and embodies the essence of who we are: a passionate, innovative challenger."

The Ariya sets the pace for Nissan's plan to roll out 12 new models in 18 months. The all-new crossover demonstrates Nissan's commitment to meeting customer demand for new electrified, autonomous and connected technologies.

Nissan expects sales of EVs and e-POWER electrified models to be more than 1 million units a year by the end of fiscal 2023. By then, the company also aims to introduce autonomous driving technologies in more than 20 models in 20 markets, and to have sold more than 1.5 million vehicles equipped with these systems.
