Mercedes‑Benz unveils all‑new electric GLB with up to 631 km of rangeMercedes‑Benz has revealed the all‑new electric GLB, a versatile compact SUV offered as a five‑ or seven‑seater that combines off‑road styling with a radically redesigned, high‑tech interior. Two battery‑electric models - the 200 kW GLB 250+ and the 260 kW GLB 350 4MATIC - will lead the range, both using an 85 kWh usable lithium‑ion battery and an 800‑volt electrical architecture that enables ultra‑fast charging; up to 260 kilometres of range can be added in about ten minutes at high‑power DC stations. The GLB 250+ delivers a WLTP range of up to 631 kilometres, while the top‑spec GLB 350 4MATIC brings all‑wheel drive and enhanced off‑road capability.

Orders in Germany are now open, with list prices starting at €59,048 for the GLB 250+ and €62,178 for the GLB 350 4MATIC; Mercedes‑Benz is also offering competitive leasing and financing options. The model family will expand after launch to include additional battery‑electric variants, an entry‑level electric model and high‑tech hybrids with 48‑volt technology and multiple combustion power levels.

Practicality and space are central to the GLB’s design: a longitudinally adjustable second‑row bench, optional third‑row seats for seven‑seat layouts, a 127‑litre front boot, and rear cargo volumes of up to 540/480 litres (five/seven‑seater) that expand to 1,715/1,605 litres with the rear seats folded. The 4MATIC versions add TERRAIN MODE, a “Transparent Bonnet” virtual view for off‑road manoeuvring and a towing capacity of up to two tonnes, plus a 100‑kilogram drawbar load for carrying e‑bikes.

The interior showcases Mercedes' latest MB.OS and the fourth‑generation MBUX, including an optional MBUX Superscreen spanning three displays and a new virtual assistant powered by generative AI. The assistant integrates multiple AI agents and services to support complex, conversational interactions, while navigation is based on Google Maps and the system supports regular over‑the‑air updates and purchasable Digital Extras.

Performance and comfort are balanced through adaptive damping paired with standard 20‑inch wheels and selectable DYNAMIC SELECT modes. Charging flexibility includes compatibility with both 800‑volt and 400‑volt infrastructures, an optional DC converter, and AC charging up to 22 kW. Safety and convenience features are extensive, with a comprehensive sensor suite, DISTRONIC distance control standard in Europe, and a broad set of driver assistance systems bundled under MB.DRIVE.

Mercedes‑Benz positions the new GLB as an "everyday hero" that blends sculptural design, practical family‑friendly features - such as four child‑seat anchorages in the rear plus one in the front - and a wide range of customization options, from Progressive and AMG equipment lines to 11 ambient styles for the MBUX Superscreen. The company says the GLB ushers its Entry Luxury portfolio into a new era of design and digital capability.
