Huawei and BAIC unveil the ArcFox αS HI at the Auto Shanghai 2021Huawei and BAIC have unveiled the first smart electric ArcFox αS HI at the Auto Shanghai 2021. This is the first car to get Huawei HI, a complete intelligent automotive solution.

Huawei's attribution to the ArcFox αS HI is on several levels. For starters, the vehicles arrive with the brand's own smart car system called Hongmeng OS (HarmonyOS). Secondly, they are fitted with Huawei's first chipset for smart cars - the Kirin 990A. It supports 5G connectivity and provides 3.5TOPs computing power. The chipset has an octa core CPU comprising of four large cores dubbed Taishan V20 Lite and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores. There's an octa-core ARM Mali-G76 GPU and a tri-core AI dedicated unit comprising two Ascend DaviniCi D110 Tiny core and one Ascend DavinCi D100 Lite core.

Thirdly, the ArcFox αS HI smart car uses Huawei's fast charging technology which ensures a top-up of 197 km after a 10-minute charge. The fast-charging system includes a smart battery management system including thermal control. The Alpha S can be fully charged in 7 hours with 20 kW AC charging while DC fast charging will take only 15 minutes. Moreover, the car supports wireless charging with an exceeded charging efficiency of 92%. The battery onboard the vehicle has a capacity of 93.6 kWh and provides up to 708 km of range depending on the vehicle version.

Finally, Huawei HI uses three 96-line automotive-grade semi-solid lidars, a sophisticated camera system, domain controllers, and other hardware, which allow the ArcFox αS HBT support L3 autonomous driving.

When it launches later this month, the Arcfox αS HBT will join the three other Arcfox vehicles already available: the Arcfox GT, Arcfox ECF and Arcfox αT.
