Porsche Taycan achieves new Guinness World Records titleThe Porsche Taycan driven by racing driver Leh Keen has achieved 165.1 km/h inside an exhibition hall in New Orleans, Louisiana. In doing so, he set the world record for the fastest speed driven by a vehicle in an enclosed building. The former Guinness World Record for driving a vehicle indoors stood at 138.4 km/h for 7 years. The vehicle uses to set the new record was the all-electric Taycan Turbo S with all-wheel drive to maximize grip, powerful carbon-ceramic brakes, and the ability to accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds.

Porsche has added a basic Taycan model that has a rear-wheel-drive system available with two battery sizes. EPA has listed the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo on its website unveiling its rating for the model's range - 201 miles, which translates to 323.478 km. The combined energy consumption of the Taycan Turbo is 49 kWh/100 miles or 69 MPGe. For comparison, the standard in Europe - WLTP, states a range of 379.8 - 449 km (combined).
