The new Skoda Enyaq brings a new Design, improved aerodynamics, and range
10 January 2025, 14:18:39
Skoda Enyaq has undergone a design facelift expressing the creators' idea to become more than just a simple upgrade. The distinctive front end in the style of the new Modern Solid design language has transformed the face of the models of the Enyaq family. These changes bring not only aesthetic but also functional benefits.
The result is the elimination of joints or a completely new bonnet. The bonnet is then seamlessly connected to the other new elements thus completely replacing the previous crystalline design with the Moedrn Solid one, emphasizing robustness, functionality, and authenticity. The result is not only a cleaner and sleeker look but also improved aerodynamics. The Enyaq's drag coefficient is 0.245 (an improvement of 0.019), while the Enyaq Coupé even shows a value of 0.225.
Improvements in aerodynamics have helped to extend the driving range of the new electric cars. While the Enyaq 85 version with a usable battery capacity of 77 kWh has so far offered a driving range of up to 562 kilometers (according to the WLTP cycle), the new version with the same technology will now offer a driving range of up to 588 kilometers on a single charge. In the Enyaq Coupé, this variant has increased from a maximum of 570 kilometers to 597 kilometers. Models with a smaller battery with a usable capacity of 59 kWh will offer a range of 431 and 439 (Coupé) kilometers.
The headlights, with four-eyed graphics for daytime running lights and other features, now fit so tightly to the Tech-Deck Face mask as if the headlights and mask were a single piece. The overall impression is enhanced by Matrix LED headlights in TOP-equipped models. The main light chamber is now set lower, and inside the headlight, the designers used black module bezels instead of the previously popular chrome. This again supports the elegance of the front. The rear lights have also undergone a minor change.
The character of the car has also been transformed by careful paintwork. Standard versions now have the lower part of the bumper painted in a Unique Dark Chrome (UDC) look, while the upper trim levels and the Coupé are painted in the body color. This brings a sportier look, while the standard version is very sleek. It stands out, especially in combination with the new metallic Olibo Green color.
There are changes in the interior too. There is a new steering wheel with Škoda lettering instead of the former round logo, various details have been slightly changed at individual Design Selections and more recycled and recyclable materials have been added. For example, the Lounge version has been upholstered in Jumbo grey from Suedia with mint green stitching and piping. A five-inch instrument cluster and a 13-inch infotainment screen are standard. Of course, there is also keyless access to the car, including the function of automatic unlocking and locking of the car when entering and after leaving it.
The Lodge interior features "TechnoFil" fabric upholstery, partly made from recycled ECONYL polyamide fibres, and orange contrasting elements, including orange seat belts. There is also three-zone climate control, predictive adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist. The technical highlights include Remote Park Assist and Remote Trained Parking, which make parking easier. The former allows the car to be parked using a mobile phone, while the latter allows the car to be taught to park automatically in up to five selected spaces.
