21 November 2025, 15:01:29
At Auto Guangzhou 2025 on November 21, Beijing time, GAC Toyota, the automaker's joint venture in China, launched the all-electric Toyota bZ7 - a sign that the brand is accelerating its commitment to meeting the diverse user needs in China's highly competitive auto market. Pre-orders are now open but GAC Toyota did not disclose the pre-sales price. However, the company said the bZ7 is positioned in the RMB 200,000 price range (~USD 28,000).
The Toyota bZ7 has unveiled its interior and smart cockpit as the brand's flagship luxury all-electric sedan, earning recognition for its advanced features among joint-venture luxury EVs. Although not yet available outside of China, the model drew considerable attention at the auto show. It stands out in its segment by integrating three high-value technologies, such as a dual-chamber air suspension and LiDAR-based intelligent driving.
The bZ7 is equipped with Huawei's HarmonySpace cockpit system and seamlessly connects to Xiaomi's smart ecosystem. It also integrates an advanced driver assistance platform developed by local supplier Momenta, enabling Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for both city streets and highways. Measuring 5,130 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm, the sedan offers a spacious and balanced profile.
The bZ7 is powered by a Huawei-supplied motor delivering 207 kW (278 hp and capable of reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. Energy comes from a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery provided by CALB, one of China's leading power battery manufacturers, ensuring reliable performance and durability.
The debut highlights Toyota's commitment to accelerating localization in China, particularly through research and development and supply chain management, which enable the company to pursue multiple technology pathways simultaneously. GAC Toyota has become one of the few automakers in the country capable of delivering proven products across both gas and electric segments.
