Facelifted 2026 Nissan Ariya will debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025
10 October 2025, 09:09:44
At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Nissan will reveal an updated version of its Ariya electric crossover, along with a range of new vehicles and technologies. The refreshed Ariya, scheduled to launch in Japan later this fiscal year, features a sleeker exterior, Google-powered infotainment, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, and suspension tuning optimized for Japanese roads.
While the Ariya will be discontinued in the U.S. after the 2025 model year, with production paused before 2026, Nissan is strengthening its focus on the Japanese market. The revamped Ariya will be presented in Tokyo alongside the next-generation Elgrand minivan and other new models.
First introduced in 2020 and produced since 2022, the Ariya is receiving its first significant update to remain competitive in the fast-moving EV market.
The most noticeable change is the refreshed front design, which features a cleaner, grille-free look inspired by the 2026 Nissan Leaf. The front end now features V-shaped LED headlights with three angled light strips and a simplified bumper that eliminates previous side intakes and fog lights, resulting in a more streamlined appearance. A black band connects the wider headlights, and the patterned grille trim beneath the Nissan badge has been replaced with a body-colored panel.
The side profile remains mostly unchanged, but the five-spoke alloy wheels feature a new texture and are accompanied by a fresh exterior color option. Although images of the rear aren't available yet, minor updates are anticipated. The black-painted roof and prominent wheel cladding remain integral to the design.
Inside, the Ariya gains a Google-integrated infotainment system and V2L functionality, enabling the vehicle to power external devices such as small appliances. The suspension has been retuned specifically for better comfort and handling on Japanese roads. No updates to the electric powertrain or battery options have been announced.
Nissan’s press conference will be livestreamed on October 29, the first media day of the Japan Mobility Show, providing deeper insight into the company’s evolving EV vision and design approach.
