The site is located in Jackson County, Georgia. The initially planned inauguration event was canceled due to the state of an emergency caused by the Covid-19 spreading. The annual production capacity of the second factory will be around 11.7GWh. Combined with the capacity of the first factory, SK will produce 21.5GWh of EV batteries per year. The first factory will start mass production next year and the second - in 2023. SK Innovations' combined production capacity per year from all of its plants throughout the world will be 71GWh. The company is aiming to reach 100GWh by 2025.

The main SK Innovation clients in the USA are Ford and Volkswagen. Ford will reportedly use SK Inno's batteries for the F-150 electric pickup truck. LG Chem is also hoping to get a part of the pie as a long-term GM partner in various initiatives. Electric pickup trucks with SK and LG batteries are expected to hit the market in 2022. Volkswagen's MEB vehicles in the USA will also use batteries from SK Innovation. SK is expecting annual sales of 730 billion won from the deal from 2022 to 2029.Source
