LG Chem expands its EV batteries reach, adds Hyundai and Kia to Ford
29 May 2020, 03:49:29

Meanwhile, Korean media reported the LG Chem will supply batteries to Ford for the Mustang Mach-E. The cells for the Mustang will be produced at the LG Chem Wroclaw plant in Poland and Ford will do its own pack assembly.
LG Chem is also cooperating with GM for its future electric vehicle on a larger basis by creating the Ultium Cells joint-venture which has recently received all permits to build a dedicated EV battery plant in the vicinity of Lordstown, Ohio in the US.
In addition, Lucid Motors confirmed LG Chem will supply batteries for its upcoming battery electric vehicle. Tesla has already added the Korean giant to its portfolio of battery cell suppliers as well.
For Q1 2020, LG Chem took the first place in global EV battery deployment and we expect the company will maintain its top positions in the market by expanding its production capacity and its customers base.Source
