Geely Galaxy or Geely Yinhe unveiled as Geely's new premium electrified series

Geely has unveiled in Hangzhou, China its new premium series of electrified products - the Geely Galaxy or Geely Yinhe. At the ceremony, Geely Auto also unveiled a multitude of new advanced electrified technologies including the new Aegis battery safety system, NordThor Hybrid 8848 powertrain, and the latest smart vehicle operating system Yinhe N-OS (Galaxy N-OS).

The Galaxy series integrates Geely Auto's global car development capabilities to offer end users best-in-class intelligent and electrified vehicles with the product range offering highly efficient long-range plugin hybrids and pure electric vehicles. Geely Galaxy products will utilize a dedicated smart electrified architecture as well as E-CMA, for its long-range hybrid product range. The series has also adopted a futuristic new design language created specifically for the smart electrified model range.

It is expected that Geely Galaxy/Yinhe will launch seven new models within the next two years. Of the seven new products planned, four will be long-range hybrid electric models including the Galaxy L7 SUV and the Galaxy L6 sedan, which begin deliveries in the second and third quarter of 2023. Three models will come under the pure Yinhe E / Galaxy E range, with the first Galaxy E8 scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The Galaxy series will be the first by the brand to utilize Geely’s Aegis battery safety system which offers the highest level of user protection and peace of mind throughout the lifespan of the battery unit. The battery safety system has taken the lead in protecting against direct impacts to the battery during crash situations. In tandem with the vehicle’s Wise Star Cloud Connected Central Computing System, the Aegis system can accurately predict and pre-empt thermal runaways and other situations, increasing battery life by 20%.

Making the Galaxy series the smartest vehicles on the road is the new Yinhe N-Operating System. The new operating system was developed in line with Smart Geely 2025 strategy under which Geely Auto is focusing heavily on self-developed chips, operating systems, intelligent cloud computing, and satellite networks to secure the future of the brand. Backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 vehicle chip, the Yinhe N OS allows its models to have the fastest system startup and response time in its class, only taking 0.5 seconds to reach a ready operational state.

With the help of Geely Auto's parent company Geely Holding Group's network of satellites, Geely Yinhe vehicles have access to centimeter-accurate precision positioning and high-precision maps to assist in intelligent driving functionality. It is expected that by 2025, Geely Holding Group will complete the launch of its 72 satellite network, providing full global coverage for Yinhe models.

The launch of Geely Auto's Geely/Yinhe series not only showcases the latest technological advances by the company, but once again raises the benchmarks in the industry and offers users safer, smarter, and electrified experiences.
