Porsche begins production of the all-electric Cayenne in BratislavaPorsche has officially launched production of the all‑electric Cayenne, marking a major milestone for the brand as it accelerates its transition toward high‑performance electrification. The electric SUV, which made its global debut in November 2025, is now rolling off the line at the company's Bratislava facility - on the very same line that builds the combustion and hybrid versions of the model. This unified approach gives Porsche the flexibility to shift output between powertrains as global demand evolves. A key pillar of the project is Porsche's decision to rely on battery modules developed entirely in‑house. These modules are produced at the Porsche Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda, roughly 100 km northeast of the main assembly plant. The site was created together with Porsche Werkzeugbau GmbH and serves as a showcase for the company's growing battery expertise. Prototype know‑how from Porsche Toolmaking has been integrated directly into series production, enabling a tightly controlled process that spans cell preparation, stacking, laser welding, foaming, cooling‑plate integration, and automated end‑of‑line testing.

The battery itself is a centerpiece of the new Cayenne generation. With a gross capacity of 113 kWh and high‑density pouch cells, the pack supports driving ranges exceeding 600 km and enables 800V fast charging at up to 400 kW. Porsche is also introducing a world first: double‑sided cooling, which regulates the battery from above and below to maintain optimal operating temperatures even under extreme load.

Performance remains central to the Cayenne identity, and the electric model pushes that philosophy further. The top‑spec Cayenne Turbo delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 hp), making it the most powerful production Porsche ever built. Inside, the SUV debuts the largest display area the brand has offered to date, paired with a significantly faster Porsche Communication Management system. Customization options have also expanded, giving buyers more freedom than any previous Cayenne generation.

The production side has undergone a transformation as well. The Volkswagen Group's multi‑brand plant in Devínska Nová Ves has been extensively upgraded, with a new platform hall serving as the starting point for every electric Cayenne. Here, the skateboard‑style chassis is assembled before receiving its body panels - stamped in one of Europe's most advanced press shops. To ensure seamless coordination, Porsche maintains a permanent on‑site team in Bratislava, tasked with addressing challenges in real time and feeding insights back into the wider organization.

According to Albrecht Reimold, Porsche's Executive Board Member for Production and Logistics, the electric Cayenne represents more than a new model line. It signals a strategic shift toward deeper vertical integration and flexible manufacturing. By combining combustion, hybrid, and electric production on a single line and controlling critical technologies like battery modules in‑house, Porsche aims to deliver consistent quality and adapt quickly to market needs worldwide.

With production now underway, the electric Cayenne becomes one of Porsche’s most ambitious industrial projects—uniting performance, innovation, and manufacturing agility in a single platform.
