SK On to debut cell‑to‑pack integrated battery packages at InterBattery 2026SK On is preparing a wide showcase for InterBattery 2026, which will be held from March 11 to 13 at COEX in Seoul, presenting technologies that reflect its expanding role in the global energy landscape. The company will highlight solutions that go beyond electric vehicles, extending into energy storage systems, robotics, and next‑generation industrial applications.

The exhibition is organized into three thematic zones designed to guide visitors through SK On's technological roadmap. These include Leading Tech, which focuses on innovations in battery design and manufacturing; Future Tech, which introduces next‑generation concepts still under development; and Core Tech, which emphasizes the company's strategic advancements in energy storage and cell‑to‑pack systems.

In the Leading Tech section, visitors will encounter new cell structures such as the pouch‑integrated prismatic cell and the On‑Vent prismatic cell. SK On is also presenting progress on its dry electrode process, which eliminates the need for solvents and supports more efficient, environmentally conscious production. This configuration reduces the number of components and simplifies manufacturing while improving durability against external impacts. Commercialization is planned for 2028.

The Future Tech zone centers on emerging technologies, including an immersion cooling system developed with SK Enmove. This approach manages heat by submerging battery components in a specialized cooling fluid. A vehicle underbody model and a compact module demonstrate how immersion cooling can be applied to cell‑to‑pack structures. The zone also features the Hyper Fast battery, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in seven minutes, and an autonomous mobile robot powered by SK On's NCM battery.

The Core Tech area highlights SK On's advancements in energy storage systems. The company is introducing a high‑energy‑density LFP pouch battery designed for ESS applications, along with a diagnostic system that uses electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to enhance operational safety. Several cell‑to‑pack solutions are also on display, including large‑surface cooling designs and pouch‑integrated prismatic packs, each aimed at improving cooling efficiency, structural stability, and cost competitiveness.

Visitors to InterBattery 2026 will be able to explore these technologies firsthand and gain insight into SK On’s broader vision for the future of energy. The company's roadmap emphasizes not only electric mobility but also industrial and next‑generation applications that reflect shifting global demands.
