Toyota and Subaru will jointly develop a BEV platform and an all-electric SUVToyota has just announced that it will jointly develop with Subaru a platform for battery electric midsize and large passenger vehicles and a C-segment-class all-electric SUV. The upcoming model will be for sale under each company's own brand. Subaru has strong expertise and experience in all-wheel-drive technologies, while Toyota's main strength is expertise and experience in vehicle electrification technologies. Following this agreement with Toyota, Subaru will now shift its existing BEV development resources to this new joint project. Within this new framework, Subaru will continue its efforts to create an attractive BEV SUV for its customers, while improving efficiencies in terms of engineering, development, purchasing, and other areas through the new joint project.Source
