The Lexus RZ BEV SUV concept showcased during Toyota's media briefing on its global EV strategyDuring Toyota's media briefing on its global EV strategy, Lexus showcased its RZ BEV SUV concept. The upcoming vehicle will be launched under the Lexus Electrified brand. With bold proportions and low ride height essential to a sports car, it will showcase the unique driving performance of a Lexus and become a model that symbolizes the future of the brand. Acceleration time will be in the low 2-second range, cruising range - over 700 km, and with the possible use of solid-state batteries in mind, Lexus will aim to create a truly high-performance BEV.

Extracting the full potential of the vehicle through electrification technology - that is what electrification means to Lexus. This will be a unique electrified Lexus that combines linear motor acceleration/deceleration, brake feel, and exhilarating handling to further pursue the joy of driving. The process of strengthening the fundamentals and pursuing the Lexus Driving Signature will not change even if it is a BEV. The endless pursuit of the Lexus Driving Signature will move to the next stage through the development of the new Sports Battery EV.

Lexus will develop a next-generation battery EV sports car that inherits the driving taste, or the secret sauce, of the performance cultivated via the development of the LFA. It will extend the driving taste refined this way to other models as Lexus becomes a brand centered on battery EVs. We can position batteries and electric motors to bring more freedom to battery EVs.

This freedom will allow Lexus to be more attuned to its customers, such as by meeting the various needs of different regions, the various lifestyles of our customers, and, when it comes to commercial vehicles, everything from long-distance transport to last-mile delivery.

Lexus aims to realize a full lineup of battery EVs in all vehicle segments by 2030 and to have battery EVs account for 100 percent of its vehicle sales in Europe, North America, and China, totaling 1 million units globally. And it aims for battery EVs to make up 100 percent of its global vehicles sales in 2035.
