Kuo says Apple will collaborate with Hyundai on the furutre Apple Car, wll turn to GM and PSA as wellAppleInsider cites TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, well-known for his analysis and predictions on all-things Apple, that the Cupertino giant will work with Hyundai and that its first model will be based on Hyundai's E-GMP BEV platform introduced in December 2020. For e detailed information on the platform, you can refer to our original news here. Hyundai Mobis will be responsible for the component design and production, while key will handle the Apple Car production in the USA. Moreover, further Apple vehicles will be built together with General Motors for the USA market and PSA for the European market. This deep collaboration is expected as Apple won't be able to create its own automotive supply chain in a short time. The list of possible problems is not limited to that. The EV market is different from a smartphone one and Kuo expects that the Apple Car won't be seen before 2025 at the earliest.

Kuo said: "Apple's deep collaboration with current automakers (Hyundai Group, GM, and PSA) who have extensive development, production, and qualification experience will significantly shorten the Apple Car development time and create a time-to-market advantage. We believe that Apple will leverage current automakers' resources and focus on self-driving hardware and software, semiconductors, battery-related technologies, form factor and internal space designs, innovative user experience, and the integration with Apple's existing ecosystem."Source
