Tesla Model Y Juniper refresh launched in ChinaTesla China has listed the facelifted Model Y with code name Juniper and official name "Model Y Launch Series" on its website. There are two variants available and the first units are scheduled for March delivery. The updated Model Y delivers a longer range, improved performance, and some changes in design details. Its starting price is 5% higher on average.

The first variant is Tesla Model Y RWD priced at CNY 263,500 (~USD 36K). packs a 62.5 kWh battery for a CLTC range of 593 km and is propelled by a 220 kW rear electric motor with a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 5.3 seconds. For comparison, the previous version had a CLTC range of 554 km and sprinted from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The top speed is 201 km/h. The model supports 150 kW fast charging.

The second variant is Tesla Model Y LR AWD priced at CNY 303,500 (~USD 41.5K). It is powered by a 78.4 kWh battery ensuring a CLTC range of 719 km. The rear motor has a peak power of 194 kW and the front-mounted one has a peak power of 137 kW. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is 4.3 s. The top speed is 201 km/h. For comparison, the previous Model Y edition had a CLTC range of 688 km and accelerated from 0 to 10 km/h in 5 seconds. The top speed had a higher limit - 217 km/h. The updated Tesla Model Y LR AWD supports 250W fast charging.

The obvious change in Model Y Juniper is in the exterior design which borrows some of the sharply cut lines for the front and back from local brands. The vehicle has a length of 4707 mm, a width of 1920 mm, a height of 1624 mm, and a wheelbase of 2890 mm. The RWD variant weighs 1921 kg and the LR AWD version weighs 1992 kg. According to Tesla, the interior uses higher-quality materials and sound insulation has been improved, too. The default color is gray. The other color options require an additional fee of CNY 8000 for the white and blue and CNY 12000 for the silver and red.
