Toyota will partner with PSA Group to launch electrified LCVs in Europe in 2020 and 2021Toyota Motor Europe has announced its plans for expanding in the commercial vehicle business. It will launch new models and will embark on a new LCV brand strategy dubbed "Toyota Professional". The first model to be launched is the new Toyota Proace City which will see the light of day in 2020 in the compact high-roof combo segment. Together with the Proace truck and the Hilux pick-up, Toyota covers more than two-thirds of the commercial vehicle market. The new Proace combines clever functionality with excellent charging characteristics - making it one of the few models that can accommodate two Euro pallets.

Moreover, Toyota will cooperate with the PSA Group to launch battery-powered versions of the Proace and Proace City. The new variants will be introduced in 2020 and 2021, respectively. "With the addition of the Toyota Professional LCV brand strategy, we are advancing the development and electrification of the commercial vehicle program, underscoring our commitment to providing the right products and services to an increasing number of customers," said Matt Harrison, EVP of Toyota Motor Europe.Source
