The new Jaguar I-Pace Black goes officialThe Jaguar I-Pace has received worldwide recognition and various awards for its exceptional design. Now Jaguar is further reinforcing the appeal of the all-electric performance SUV with the introduction of the I-Pace Black.

This exclusive addition to the I-Pace range has an even richer equipment. By default, it is fitted with some features that are optional for versions S, SE and HSE on which the I-Pace Black is based such as the Black Pack, panoramic roof, and privacy glass. The sleek, contemporary look of the I-Pace Black is accentuated by the high-gloss black finish of the 20-inch five-spoke wheels. The new edition is available in all body colors, including the premium metallic Aruba and Farallon Pearl Black colors.

Like any other Jaguar model, the I-Pace Black offers a wide range of technologies designed to make every trip easier and finer. The Pivi Pro infotainment system is ready to go when boarding and use it as intuitively as a smartphone. The EV navigation shows whether charging stations are available nearby, what charging connection they have, what the rates are and how long charging takes. On long journeys, Pivi Pro also shows the expected loading level at any point of the route. Pivi Pro has a built-in SIM card and a 4G data plan that allows unlimited music to be streamed and the Smartphone Pack with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard. To make smartphone connectivity even easier, a wireless version will soon also be available via a software-over-the-air (SOTA) update. The SOTA function of the I-Pace Black ensures that the infotainment and vehicle systems can always be updated seamlessly and remotely. Furthermore, two smartphones can be connected to the I-Pace at the same time and the optional wireless charger under the 'floating' center console is equipped with a signal amplifier to strengthen network reception and Wi-Fi.

In order to improve air quality and thus comfort and well-being on board, the air ionization is now equipped with PM2.5 filters that also capture ultrafine particles and allergens in the air. The Jaguar I-Pace Black can even filter the air in the interior prior to a ride. The ClearSight digital interior mirror gives the driver an unhindered view of the road behind the car, even with passengers in the back or a full luggage compartment. The system uses a widescreen camera and displays the images on a screen behind the mirror. With a switch, the driver can choose between a conventional mirror and the camera image.

On long highway rides, Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist provides more comfort. With subtle assistance with steering, throttle and braking, the car stays in the middle of the lane and maintains a set distance from the vehicles in front of the car. With two Jaguar-developed electric motors on both axles, the exceptional system power of 294 kW (400 hp), the torque of 696 Nm, the aluminum construction and the low center of gravity of the car, the I-PACE offers an unparalleled balance of four-wheel drive performance, refinement, luxury and manoeuvrability. All this with an exceptionally large range in practice and optimal daily ease of use.

The 11 kW on-board charger in the I-Pace Black ensures that home charging with a three-phase power connection is quick and easy. In combination with an 11 kW wallbox, it is possible to recharge power every hour for 53 kilometers of range. Full charging takes only 8.6 hours, so the battery is perfect to charge at night. The Preferred Charging Period function makes it possible to program a desired start and end time for charging. This allows the customer to benefit from any off-peak tariffs of the electricity provider. Soon, thanks to a SOTA update, this function will offer even more flexibility because a specific charging status can be set. For example, charging up to 80 percent. Along the way, 100 kW DC fast chargers offer up to 127 km of range in just 15 minutes. In the same time, 50 kW chargers offer up to 63 km of range.

Jaguar has developed the Go I-PACE app - for iPhone and Android - that gives more insight into how well the I-PACE fits into the daily life of the potential customer. The app also highlights the benefits of electric driving. The app analyzes the journeys the user takes, in any car. Next, the app shows the possible cost savings, how much battery charge would have been consumed on that ride, and the number of full charges that would be required for the total distance driven.
