Toyota will unveil new BEVs and the BEV Factory concept at the Japan Mobility Show due this fall

During its financial report meeting, Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled that it plans to unveil a new dedicated organization "BEV Factory". This concept will be showcased at the Japan Mobility Show this fall. It is expected to be a cross-sectional organizational structure that integrates everything from new technologies and manufacturing methods to enhancing old and establishing new partnerships. Under the leadership of a single leader, all processes of "development, production, and business" are carried out in an integrated manner, enabling speedy decision-making and execution. Takeo Kato is appointed President of the BEV Factory and Takahiro Ishishima is appointed Automotive Development Center Director. Moreover, Toyota plans new BEV models to be conceived and produced in the BEV Factory. These will include two luxury vehicles one by Toyota and one by Lexus, three-row SUVs, small EVs for emerging markets, and a sports model. Their launch is scheduled for 2026. By 2026 Toyota plans to sell 1.5 million pure electric cars.
