Xiaomi SU7 Ultra debuted in China and is already on pre-sale

In a huge press conference last night, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and the EV is already in pre-sale for the local market starting at CNY 814,900, which is roughly USD 114,200. This price is four times higher than the price of the vanilla Xiaomi SU7. The first customers will get their Ultra models in March next year. Lay June also shared that a prototype vehicle challenged the Nürburgring track and finished with a final lap time of 6:46 minutes making it the fastest four-door car on the track so far. Moreover, Lei Jun specified that the SU7 Ultra has a tuned chassis system and is built for the track - it can driven there without any modifications.

The aerodynamic design of the whole car not only brings a maximum downforce of 285kg, but also announces to the opponent: its strength should not be underestimated. The oversized front shovel and air dam kit at the front of the car, combined with the U-shaped wind blade, effectively increase the front downforce. The opening of the air intake grille is further enlarged to increase the air intake and improve the heat dissipation performance.

The large active rear diffuser located under the rear supports adaptive adjustment from 0° to 16°, taking into account both the low wind resistance requirements for daily driving and the high downforce requirements for high-speed and intense driving. The oversized fixed rear wing is made entirely of carbon fiber, with a wingspan of 1560mm and a chord length of 240mm, which makes the entire vehicle more "combat-like" while also bringing considerable downforce.

The interior design of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is consistent with the exterior style: the brand-new sports seats and large areas of bright yellow color are eye-catching, combined with the carbon fiber material that can be seen everywhere, it brings excitement and pure speed driving joy.

The exclusive Ultra embroidered logo on the seat means that it is equipped with a larger and more responsive side wing support function. From the visual perspective to the functional experience, it reveals a pure sense of sportiness. The cockpit uses a large amount of expensive Alcantara microfiber fabric, which not only improves the anti-slip effect on the seat and steering wheel grip, but also reduces the messy light with lower reflectivity, improving driving concentration.

The new carbon fiber sports steering wheel is wrapped with anti-slip Alcantara microfiber fabric at the grip areas. The racing style upper and lower plane design and the yellow center mark help precise control during intense driving. Three styles of simulated sound waves provide full emotional value every time you accelerate. A new 40W external speaker at the rear of the car makes playing the sound waves externally more fun.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features three electric motors. Two of them are Xiaomi V8s motors, each delivering 578 hp, and the third one is a V6s motor delivering 392 hp. The combined system power is 1548 hp allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in 5.85 seconds, and from 0 to 400 km/h in 9.23 seconds. The top speed is exceeding 350 km/h.

The vehicle has an 800V system and is the first EV to feature the CATL Kirin II battery. Xiaomi and CATL jointly developed a high-power battery pack for racing cars. It has an 897V peak voltage, 5.2C charging rate, and supports 1330kW ultra-large discharge power. The battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 11 minutes.
