Stellantis and Foxconn create the Mobile Drive joint ventureStellantis and Foxconn announced the creation of the Mobile Drive joint venture. The new business entity will combine Stellantis' global expertise in vehicle development and design with Foxconn's global development in the rapidly changing software and hardware areas of smartphones and consumer electronics. This combination puts Mobile Drive at the forefront of the global effort to create new dimensions for information and entertainment in the vehicle interior - seamlessly networked inside and outside the vehicles in which they are installed. The Dutch-based joint venture operates as an automotive supplier and competes for the supply of software solutions and related hardware to Stellantis and other interested vehicle manufacturers. Mobile Drive will focus on developing infotainment, telematics and cloud service platforms, with software innovations such as AI-based applications, 5G communication, improved over-the-air services, e-commerce capabilities and smart cockpit integrations.
