MINI pushes part 500 km as the updated all-electric Countryman debuts major efficiency updates

MINI is preparing a major technical refresh for the all‑electric Countryman, positioning the updated model as more efficient, more versatile, and more advanced than any of its predecessors. Arriving in March 2026, the new MINI Countryman E and MINI Countryman SE All4 introduce a series of innovations that push the compact electric SUV into a new performance bracket, including an all‑electric range that - for the first time - exceeds 500 kilometers.

The MINI Countryman E now delivers up to 501 km of WLTP‑certified range, a significant leap enabled by several engineering upgrades. Central to the improvement is a new silicon carbide inverter designed to maximize energy efficiency and reduce power losses. MINI has also increased the usable capacity of the high‑voltage battery to 65.2 kWh and introduced friction‑optimized wheel bearings on the front axle to cut rolling resistance. Together, these enhancements transform the largest MINI model into a more capable long‑distance companion.

Inside, the Countryman continues to emphasize everyday practicality. Its spacious cabin and flexible cargo area - expandable to 1450 liters - make it suitable for family use, sports gear, or extended travel. The extended driving range of both the MINI Countryman E and the MINI Countryman SE All4, which reaches up to 467 kilometers, reduces charging frequency. In contrast, fast DC charging enables a 10 to 80 percent top‑up in under half an hour, whether on highways or rural routes.

Design updates reinforce the model’s modern identity. Aerodynamic refinements contribute to a drag coefficient of just 0.26, supporting the improved efficiency. The new Favoured Trim highlights the SUV's expressive character with details such as the Blazing Blue exterior finish, a contrasting silver roof and mirror caps, and 20‑inch Windmill Spoke alloy wheels.

The cabin introduces MINI’s latest digital interface, anchored by a 24‑centimeter OLED central display that controls infotainment and driver‑assistance features. The system supports Level 2 autonomous driving functions and is designed to enhance both safety and comfort. All technical upgrades, including the new SiC inverter, integrate into the vehicle’s overall architecture to deliver a more efficient and refined driving experience.
