Chevrolet is reigniting excitement around its beloved electric hatchback with the announcement of a next-generation Bolt EV, slated for a return to the market in early 2026. While the 2027 Chevy Bolt hasn't been officially detailed yet, it is confirmed that the model is charging ahead, backed by a new battery platform that promises to elevate its performance, efficiency, and accessibility.

The message is clear: GM recognizes the enduring popularity of the Bolt and is committed to bringing it back with meaningful upgrades. Starting at USD 29,990 for the LT trim (a cheaper 28,595 will be available later), the refreshed Bolt EV will offer up to 255 miles (410 km) of range and 210 hp (156 kW), will have a NACS charger, and will charge from 10% to 80% with a DC charger in 26 minutes.

Available in an LT and an RS trim (RS is for the first time), the new model will boast a spacious redesigned interior with large screens, enhanced tech, and 20 standard and available safety and driver assistance features. Some of the interior features include an 11" driver information center, an 11.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment, optional multicolor ambient lighting, and additional storage capacity of up to 113 L with the underfloor storage compartment.

The exterior colors are revamped, and for the RS trim, they include Atomic Yellow, Habanero Orange, Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, Marina Blue Metallic, and Sterling Grey Metallic. The LT trim will have a Relic Green Metallic color replacing the Atomic Yellow, while the other options remain the same. The interior colors for the Bolt LT include Jet Black with Blue and Grey Accents with an Evotex option, while the Bolt RS will have an interior in Jet Black Evotex with Red Accents. On the outside, the 2027 Chevy Bolt will offer new front and rear fascia, 17" aluminum wheels, and gloss black outside mirrors. The Bolt RS in particular will get the RS treatment with sporty, street-inspired looks, featuring a unique grille, Black wheels, Gloss Black roof rails, and more.

Chevrolet's announcement is more than just a teaser; it's a nod to loyal Bolt enthusiasts who have embraced the model's practicality, affordability, and electric charm. The promise of a smarter, more capable Bolt EV continues to build anticipation for what could be one of the most accessible and well-rounded electric vehicles in its class.
