Tesla Model Y L also listed as Tesla Model YL has been launched in China. The vehicle's price starts at CNY 339,000, which is roughly USD 47,180. The first units will be delivered to customers in China next month. Here are the complete Tesla Model Y L specifications for China. More details will be added when they are available.
The Tesla Model Y L is longer and has a longer wheelbase compared to the Model Y LR AWD model - 4976 mm and 3050 mm, respectively. It is also higher and has wider front and rear tracks at 1668 mm, 1656 mm, and 1624 mm, respectively. The width remains unchanged. Tesla has optimized the drag coefficient to cd=0.216. Logically, the curb weight has also increased and measures 2088 kg. The ground clearance is specified as 169 mm.
Inside, the new model features three rows of seats for a total of six people. The total loading volume has increased to 2539 liters. The front and second row of seats are heated, ventilated, and electronically adjustable. The second row of seats also has lifting armrests. The third row comprises heated and electronically foldable seats. The front row uses a 16-inch main touch screen, while the other two rows have 8-inch touch screens. Tesla has also upgraded the audio system to now feature a total of 18 speakers, retaining the single subwoofer.
Tesla Model Y L employs the same electric model setup used by the Tesla Model Y LR AWD with a 194 kW AC permanent magnet synchronous reluctance motor on the rear axle and a 137 kW 3-phase 4-pole AC induction motor on the front axle. The system's top speed is 201 km/h and the 0-100 km/h acceleration is 4.5 seconds. The car is powered by an 82 kWh NMC battery by LG Energy Solution with a net capacity of 79 kWh. It most likely comprises 96 battery cells. The unit ensures 751 km of driving range and a power consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km, according to the CLTC standard for China. The vehicle supports 250 kW DC fast charging.
The Tesla Model YL arrives with 19" spin-engined wheel hub rims, six available exterior colors (Starry Sky Gray, Pearl White, Glacier Blue Car, Star Diamond Black, Flame Red, Starlight Gold), and a single interior color option - Dark Premium. The vehicle features Tesla's second-generation suspension system, adding continuous variable damping, which is lacking in the other Model Y trims.
